Shitty way for Federer to lose on Match Point though. On three separate big points balls clipped the tape and perfectly blooped over the net, once for Federer (the last break in the first set) and twice for Hewitt (to save the third consecutive break point down 4-4 30:40 in the 2nd set, and on Match Point).
Oh well, Hewitt played great from 3-6 5-4 onward and Federer’s game disappeared for a long stretch. Congrats to him.
And I love grass court tennis. Reminds me that it is summer time!
Absolutely. He has won Wimbledon before and is one of the better volleyers on tour. Beating Federer has to bode well for him. I don’t see Hewitt as a favorite but he is clearly playing like someone who could make some noise at Wimbledon.

i personally think that he or Gasquet will be prettyy dangerous non high ranked seeds in the draw..
I’m so happy for Hewitt as this will do wonders for his confidence going into Wimbledon. I think Hewitt is definitely and will always be the ‘dark horse’ when it comes to any grand slam. If you haven’t noticed already, it takes top quality players to beat Hewitt in a slam. It’s usually the eventual champion who beats Hewitt.
I hope Hewitt can go one step further this year. C’mon Hewitt!
im not sure he is a dark horse for wimbledon, i just don’t think he has another slam left in him.
but he is definitely a player that the top seeds do not want in their draw at wimbledon, he is a great grass player and has 7 titles on the surface, including 4 queens club titles and 1 wimbledon victory.
so he is capable of causing an upset to 1 of the favourites but in my mind he has no chance of winning wimbledon. :):)
