What clay court tennis tournament is the best to watch if I want to see Rafael Nadal?
except Roland Garros and what’s the best seat to get if you’re on a semi-tight budget?

Internazionali BNL d’Italia
Rome, Italy
French Open, Roland Garros
I personally think the best one is the Madrid Open in May, a couple of weeks before the French Open. Obviously it is Nadal’s home country, and he has won this tournament several times. The crowd will be really behind him and the atmosphere is always good at this tournament:-

Try looking in the ‘get tickets’ section. Of course you have not said if you are willing to travel…
An alternative is to scroll through the following list of ATP tournaments, and look for one that is in your country or near you (obviously click on the tournament to make sure Nadal is scheduled to play), then enquire in the email address/number provided:-

To be honest though, getting tickets varies in difficulty from tournament to tournament and I doubt there are any which are truly ‘cheap’. Good luck though.
I’d say Rafael Nadal would be more likely to play one of the ATP Masters series events in the lead up to the French Open.
11 April – Monte Carlo Rolex Masters, Monte Carlo, Monaco
25 April – Internazionali BNL d’Italia, Rome, Italy
9 May – Mutua Madrilena Madrid Open, Madrid, Spain
I think of all of these, he is probably most likely to play in Madrid (home country, new stadium and he played last year).
It might be wise to keep track of how his injury is progressing too. I’ve posted a link to his website (which at this point is under construction). He apparently has a facebook page as well.
As far as seating goes, there’s probably no such thing as a bad one. Even at the Australian Open, I’ve had seats way up the back and you can see fine. So unless the stadium is an unusually large one (like Arthur Ashe in New York), you’ll probably be fine no matter what seat you get. The best ones are at either end of the court (behind the server or returner) but, like I said, you’ll probably be fine getting the cheaper seats.
If you click on the tournament name in the calendar it takes you to a page for that tournament. On the top right corner, there are details of the tournament including the official website and ticketing information.
Hope this helps.
i would say monte-carlo but what ever you do, make sure you see him in the 1st or 2nd round as he won’t make it any further!!! : D
He is out with an injury, so check back to find out when he’s returning to tournament play. Clay tournaments are played all over the world, so just go on google to find a venue that’s near to where you are, or prepare to incur travel expenses. e.g if you live in the US, airfare to Rome ain’t cheap.
the french open…duh
