After all, you said “That’s why she (Venus) sucks”- I was presenting facts to you that suggest otherwise. You did not say “Venus’ tennis sucks in this match”.

@KFactor93 well she came through that. i think you should consider giving the girl more credit. yes she’s playing venus next and she”ll hardly beat her but she is not half as bad as you try to make her. any wimbledon quarterfinalist deserves some respect

And I don’t think her serve has improved substantially. If you watch her Match against Sharapova at the 2009 US Open, you can see that Sharapova, even in bad form, was still pummelling her second serve.
@mitroveca Still, apart from Venus, she has failed to add any big names to her list of scalps. And Pironkova has pretty much had a cake-walk to the fourth round being in perhaps the easiest quarter of the draw. She hasn’t had to play even a lower ranked seed, and she’ll be facing Bartoli for a place in the quarter finals. I can’t see her coming through that.
@KFactor93 i dont know if you’ve seen her lately but pironkova has improved a lot. now she has a solid and pretty powerful for a woman serve and is a lot more aggressive of the ground, she’s even added some decent volleys thats why she is now in the 4th round at wimbledon
Pironkova has a very weak serve, but she was incredibly consistent off the ground this day. Had Venus been able to get some stick on that return, it would’ve been a very different match. Full-credit to Pironkova, unfortunately she hasn’t done anything since then.
As a Venus’ fan this is the match that I still can’t accept but the girl played good!
