In the few games she’s played since coming back, it’s clear that Justine Henin still has the touch to operate at the highest level.

The big question, particularly in view of hard fought victories over Kleybanova and Dementieva, is if Henin’s body is up to the job. ‘No’ seems to be the answer coming based on the constant sound of creaking coming from her body and some less than resilient post-match comments.

“My body suffered a lot. It’s not used to it anymore. It’s been quite short to recover. Not enough sleep.” she said.

There’s been talk of Justine Henin winning the Australian Open, but could Yanina Wickmayer put her chances to bed? Bookies Paddy Power have Henin as hot favourite to win this match with odds of 1/4 (1.25).

Comeback queen Justine Henin gets her second prime-time match of the tournament against compatriot Yanina Wickmayer at Rod Laver Arena. While both players are unseeded, one is a former world No.1 who has just returned to the sport after 20 months out, while the other is ranked 16 in the world and only missed out on a seeding due to a suspension for failing to adhere to drug testing policies that was lifted on the eve on the Open.

Henin survived her biggest test since returning to tennis with a tough victory over fifth seed Elena Dementieva in the second round and then came back from a set down to defeat 27th seed Alisa Kleybanova. After two grueling matches, the fitness of the seven-time Grand Slam champion will surely come into play. The two have never played each other before, but Wickmayer will carry plenty of momentum into the encounter after winning three matches to qualify for the tournament.

No.31 seed Alona Bondarenko and China’s Jie Zheng do battle in the first match at Hisense Arena. Both players have posted impressive wins so far in the tournament with Bondarenko knocking off eighth seed Jelena Jankovic and Zheng defeating 11th seed Marion Bartoli and 24th seed Maria Jose Martinez Sanchez. Following that match is an all-Russian encounter between No.19 seed Nadia Petrova and No.3 seed Svetlana Kuznetsova. Petrova will be riding high after her 52-minute demolition of US Open champion Kim Clijsters on Friday night, while Kuznetsova needed over two hours to defeat German qualifier Angelique Kerber.
