Are those awards a recognition of her proficiency in tennis or was it given as a form of charity? It seems that she has done her country proud as a tennis star. Does she deserve these acrimonious comments and intrusion in her personal life in return?

I was amazed to read some of the replies given by certain Indians here. The only issue these people have is that Shoib is from Pakistan and that she practices the muslim faith. I’m sure these comments must hurt the good and nationalistic Indian muslim people very deeply as I had earlier witnessed in OurMehfil (our forum).

For some people one should not expect much..but some others..very surprising!!

Why is there such uproar in India over Sania Mirza’s marriage with Shoaib Malik?

If it was an Indian man marrying a Pakistani woman, there would be applause for him. This scenario is constantly shown in Indian movies, but never has a scenario been shown in which a Pakistani Muslim man marries an Indian Hindu woman.

When its a Pakistani man marrying an Indian girl, there is violence on the streets. Is this how women are looked upon in India, and treated with such double standards?

Marriage Of Sania Mirza And Shoaib Malik: Astrological Analysis

The marriage of the Indian tennis star, Sania Mirza with Pakistan cricket star Shoaib Malik remained under the full glare of television and print media throughout the last week in both India and Pakistan. The marriage was to be solemnized on 15th April 2010 as per the announcements made by the family. The ‘Nikah” (marriage) ceremony was, however, hastily rescheduled and it was solemnized on the 12th of April 2010 at about 1:00 PM in hotel “Taj Krishna” in Hyderabad.

It is believed that marriages are fixed in heaven. Problems and difficulties in marriages remain similarly fixed. The media kept speculating in many ways and a lot of controversy was generated due to the actions of the bride and the bridegroom. The rescheduling of the marriage time also created controversies.

The time of “Nikah” is highly significant to understand the outcome of this marriage. Astrology revolves around the time of occurrence of an event. The marriage took place on 12th April 2010 at 1:00 PM at Hyderabad and if we draw the horoscope using this time, we will get the following planetary positions in the horoscope.

The horoscope of time of “Nikah” is as follows:

- The lagna (ascendant) rising is Cancer. Debilitated Mars is placed in the lagna.
- Retrograde Saturn is placed in the third house.
- Rahu is placed in the 6th house.
- Jupiter is placed in the 8th house.
- Sun and Moon are placed in the 9th house.
- Mercury and Venus are placed in the 10th house.
- Ketu is placed in the 12th house.

Marriage prospects in the horoscope are seen from the 7th house. The influences on the 7th house and 7th lord are also relevant. The 7th lord in the horoscope is Saturn which happens to be afflicted by being retrograde. It is also receiving the malefic aspect of arch-rival Sun. Debilitated Mars is further casting a malefic aspect on the 7th house. These combinations indicate that there may be issues in the marital life of the couple.

In the “Navamsha” (divisional chart) the position of planets are as follows:

- The “Navamsha” rising is Libra. Venus, Mars and Rahu are placed in the 1st house.
- Saturn is placed in the 5th house.
- Sun is placed in the 6th house.
- Ketu is placed in the 7th house.
- Jupiter is placed in the 8th house.
- Moon is placed in the 10th house.
- Mercury is placed in the 12th house.

The affliction on the 7th house and the 7th lord continues in the “Navamsha“. Ketu is placed in the 7th house and Mars and Rahu are also afflicting the 7th house. The promises in the main horoscope are getting repeated in this divisional chart also.

The Moon chart which incidentally also happens to be the “Arudha Lagna” shows the following picture.
