Nadal fighting VS Soderling Wimbledon 2010 PART 2 mp4 Arabic commenter adel alshetty game

The King of Clay will look to deal out another dominant hand against the Swedish player Robin Soderling, only this time it would be on grass. Rafa defeated Soderling on the clay courts of the French Open earlier this year to regain his title and crown. He pummeled the world number six, winning in straight sets 6-4, 6-2, 6-4. Overall, Rafa holds a 4-2 record against Soderling. “… gonna be a really tough match. I think probably is one of the more difficult opponents that you can play on all surfaces today, but especially here. I think he’s playing with big confidence, big serve, perfect flat shots and long from the baseline. So he’s playing great. Gonna be very difficult match for me I think. Hopefully for him, too,” Rafa said about the upcoming match versus Soderling. Soderling also said the quarterfinal match will be challenging. “… it’s gonna be an extremely tough match. He’s world No. 1. We played a lot of times and had a lot of tough matches. Again, it’s a quarterfinals in a Grand Slam. It’s gonna be tough for sure. But, you know, I think it’s definitely easier to play him on any other surface than clay,” Soderling said. The pair did meet one time on the grass courts of Wimbledon in 2007 during the round of 32. Soderling forced Rafa into a five setter. The match stretched on for three days because of rain delays, but Rafa emerged victorious, claiming the match 6-4, 6-4, 6-7(7), 4-6, 7-5. Rafa’s only two losses to Soderling have been on hard and clay courts at the

Maria Sharapova is a former World No. 1 Russian professional tennis player and three-time Grand Slam singles champion. Maria Sharapova is currently ranked No.13.

Sharapova was seeded 14th at the 2010 Australian Open, where she was upset in her opening match by her friend and former doubles partner, World No. 58 Maria Kirilenko 7–6(4), 3–6, 6–4. This was the first time since the 2003 French Open that Sharapova lost in the first round of a major.

In February, Sharapova competed in the Cellular South Cup in Memphis, USA where she was the top seed. She reached the final without dropping a set, and there she crushed 2006 champion Sofia Arvidsson 6–2, 6–1 to win her 21st career WTA title and her first title of the year. However, she lost in the next round to Zheng Jie, 6–3, 2–6, 6–3, in a match where she was hampered with an arm injury. She withdrew from the 2010 Sony Ericsson Open with a bone bruise in her right elbow, but still rose to World No. 12. The injury also forced her to miss the Family Circle Cup.

Sharapova will compete in Madrid and Strasbourg before playing in the French Open.

Federer Will Face Ca

The Swiss tennis player Roger Federer will face Guillermo Cañas at the Rome ATP Masters Series tournament, after the Argentinean won on Monday in three sets his first match against the Italian Gianluca Nas; the tournament’s wild card. Cañas managed a victory 6-7 (8-10), 6-3 and 6-2 against Naso during the first round of games.

Cañas who is currently ranked 30 is one of the few players in the men’s professional circuit that has a favorable personal record against the world’s number one; basically three victories in five games. Nevertheless, Cañas will have to work hard on Monday to assure an encounter with the Swiss on the clay court in the Italian Capital.

The Argentinean’s first match against Naso was a real thriller as he kept pressuring the South American; both remained partial in the first set with a tiebreak. Then in the second set Cañas’ performance was better as he took advantage of a series of unforced errors made by the Italian, which led him to his victory in a game that lasted two hours and 37 minutes.

After this victory, Cañas was set on course to play against his best rival Roger Federer who comes from a previous loss to Rafa Nadal at the Monte Carlo Final only a week ago. The eight top players who lead the series will begin to play in the second round as all received a bye-card for the first entry. The Spaniard Rafa Nadal seeks his fourth consecutive title in Rome as he previously did in the French city of Monte Carlo.

On the other hand; the Peruvian Luis Horna won in consecutive sets 6-4 and 6-1 over the French who is currently in the top ten Richard Gasquet to advance into the second round. The Frenchman who is going through a difficult time lost perspective and was stopped by Horna during this serve.

In one hour the Peruvian managed to win over the French who is the only top 10 players who has not advanced past the quarterfinals in the 2008 ATP tournament circuit.

”Today I played probably my worse game of the year. After beginning losing the first set, I lost all my confidence and was really lost on the court. Nothing would have made me win here today” expressed Gasquet in a press conference.

Another game was that of the Belgian Steve Darcis who will face in the second round the Australian Open champion of this year, the Serbian Novak Djokovic; Darcis won over the Croatian Ivan Ljubicic for 7-5 and 7-6 (7-5). Later in the day, the Argentinean Juan Martin del Potro faced the Scottish Andy Murray in the first round; but retired in the third set 5-7, 6-4, 1-0 allowing Murray to continue.

The raising Spaniard star Nicolas Almagro won over the Italian Flavio Cipolla 6-1 and 6-3 and will be the rival in a second round encounter against the Argentinean David Nalbandian who comes from weary performance at the Barcelona Open where he was eliminated in the first rounds.

Goodwill Ambassador Maria Sharapova visit to Belarus

Tennis champion, Maria Sharapova, arrived here today to visit children living in areas affected by the 1986 Chernobyl nuclear disaster and to see for herself the work of a number of UNDP youth-focused projects that her Foundation has helped fund. As soon as she landed, Sharapova went to the town of Chechersk and visited the hospital’s “Fairy Tale Room” which provides treatment to the children in the form of interactive games and psychotherapeutic sessions. She then visited UNDP’s “Ecology of the Soul” project at the Local Arts Centre and spoke to children involved in raising awareness on environmental issues. The project, funded by the Maria Sharapova Foundation, works with youth to spruce up public spaces, clean springs, make bird feeders and plant bushes. Needless to say, she was a big hit with the children, all of whom wanted to pose next to her and have their photos taken. “I am so glad to be able to see these inspiring children and the wonderful projects that my Foundation and UNDP have been supporting for the past two years”, said the tennis star. “They are definitely a good example of how local communities can overcome the ‘victim syndrome’, take greater control over their lives and build productive futures for themselves.” Tomorrow, Sharapova will visit the Gomel Oblast Tennis Centre and will meet with the 2010 winners of a five-year Maria Sharapova Foundation Scholarship for Youth from the Chernobyl-Affected Areas of Belarus. The scholarship aims to assist

US Open 2010 Schedule,US Open Tournament Players details

<!– @page { margin: 0.79in } P { margin-bottom: 0.08in } –>

WITH THE qualifiers already underway and a possible non-participation threat cloud looming large over Serena Williams, the U.S Open 2010 will kick start on August 30 and will continue till September 12, 2010 at USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in Flushing Meadows, Queens, New York City, United States.

Last years, defending champions were Juan Martin del Porto from Argentina in the men’s category and Kim Clijsters of Belgium in the women’s category. Although del Porto will not be defending his title this year due to a wrist injury, Clijsters is a favourite as a player who has continuously performed well at the US Open. Serena Williams, undoubtedly the best top ranked player and holder of two grand slam titles might not participate in this year’s tournament due to an injury in her right foot.

Another seeded player, who appears to be in top form is Lleyton Hewitt who is basking in his own comfort zone as a third seed post the ATP Atlanta Tennis Championship.

Behind the Scenes with Roger Federer: Real Men Wear Pink
He’s a real person. He’s not an enigma. Off the court he’s not trying to be somebody. If you met him at McDonald’s and you didn’t know who he was, you would have no idea that he’s one of the best athletes in the world. — Andy Roddick on Federer   Roger Federer can’t cook. That’s it. That’s the only negative I’ve got. Digging deeper and looking for hidden faults is a futile exercise.  I covered …

Federer, Nadal Braced for Possible Olympic Power Shift

Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal will be chasing more than gold at the Beijing Olympics with the coveted world No 1 place suddenly at stake following the Spaniard’s stunning Wimbledon triumph.

Federer has occupied the top spot in the rankings for 232 weeks while Nadal has had to be content with life in the Swiss star’s slipstream for 155 of those.

But the tournament in China could witness the latest dramatic switch in tennis’ balance of power, which seemed impossible just a few weeks ago.
Ahead of the French Open, where Nadal cruised effortlessly to a fourth successive title, the Mallorcan was too busy looking over his shoulder at the imminent danger posed by Novak Djokovic who was poised to take over his No 2 slot.
But after becoming the first man since Bjorn Borg in 1980 to complete the elusive Roland Garros-Wimbledon double, Nadal is now poised to knock Federer off his perch if a complicated series of scenarios work in his favor.
The defining moment could come on the north American hardcourts, in Beijing or at the US Open where Federer is the defending champion.
Either way, the 22-year-old Nadal is eager for the Olympics to get underway.
“To play in the Olympics is very special, because when you’re very young you always see the Olympic Games on television,” said Nadal who’ll be making his singles debut in Beijing having played doubles with Carlos Moya at Athens four years ago.
“You represent your country, that’s the same as the Davis Cup, but at the same time it’s completely different. When I play Davis Cup I always have this big motivation and I think in the Olympics I am going to have the same.”

Despite Nadal’s triumphs at Wimbledon and at Roland Garros, Federer doesn’t take kindly to suggestions that he should be preparing to hand over his No 1 spot to his Spanish rival.
“You write what you want,” he snapped after losing the five-set thriller at the All England Club, his 12th defeat in 18 matches with Nadal.

“I’m going to try and win the Olympics and the US Open and then we can talk again.”

The Federer-Nadal rivalry will be one of the most fascinating at the Games with commercial backers and the game’s rulers licking their lips in anticipation.

If TV viewing figures are any guide, a gold-medal clash between the sport’s heavyweights will be big box office.

In the United Kingdom, more than 13 million viewers watched the culmination of the Wimbledon final, a huge 47.6 percent of the TV audience.

Federer finished fourth at the 2000 Olympics in Sydney and was knocked out in round two at Athens by Thomas Berdych of the Czech Republic.
